Many thanks to everybody but specially...
Posted: 26 Jun 06 3:50 AM

Hello everybody,

I'd like to thank everybody for turning the event we were planning an actual fact; but special thanks go to those who offered to share their knowledge with the rest of us, those who offered to speak. I am pleased to say that we were able to have a spot in the agenda for everybody who offered to speak. Caleb and I started putting the agenda together as we had originally talked about and found out that a few people were being left out so hoping it would not negatively impact the sessions too much, we added another time slot to the agenda and everybody that offered to present was able to do it. Unfortunately Scott Dockendorf, from the NDDNUG was a little ill and was not able to make it so we ended up with a blank square in the agenda... but we survived. I haven't talked to him but I hope Scott is feeling better now.

I also have to mention and thank the help we received from all those who volunteered their time to work with us to make our Code Camp a successful event. From those who contributed with ideas and suggestions during the planning calls and that unfortunately for one reason or another could not attend the event (one of them for taking an extended TechEd leave to go on vacations to the Bahamnas or the Caribbean or one of those cool places)... to those who were there and helped with the logistics, food, prizes and everything else, the whole thing started the day before for them; they were very energetic and did it cheerfully, I'd like to see them more often at our user group meetings. Thanks also to those that were there, had offered to help and we ended up not having tasks to assign to them (if you are one of them, don't worry, you'll get another chance to help at the next one). And much more special thanks to those volunteers who made it all easier by giving life and functionality to the simple web site that I originally had, that was just Jason, actually; thank you Jason, you're the man and you know it. Jason's work started after Tina Ho, a Graphic Designer that works with Abraham at True.com, was so nice that she created the logo for us (kudos for her, she is not a developer and still was happy to contribute to our community, I haven't met her yet, she was supposed to be at the event too). Thanks to Caleb, he got us the building and the food (and the security guards that building security requires, thanks to them as well for being there) and finally thanks to the companies that contributed with the give-aways, check out their links on our home page.

It was a lot of fun making this Code Camp happen and now that we have the experience of this one and many things already done, I am sure the next one is going to be even more fun so if you are the kind of person that likes to have fun at the same time that you are contributing to your local .Net community, then don't go anywhere, the opportunity to do it is just around the corner ;-)

Now, last but not least, please use these forums to tell us what you think, give us feedback, what you liked, what you didn't like, what would you suggest we do different next time; all that, let's all stay in touch. And if you want to present some topic next time, send me an email, we'll get you in the agenda.

I hope everybody enjoyed the event. See you there next time!
